march madness
March has been such a fun month. Shelby got accepted to LDS business college in Salt Lake and BYU Idaho. She was mad because we told her she needed to start in September but then we found out BYU idaho said she would be starting in January and she was thrilled. So, she will be going to idaho in december and moving in to her own place. Now i have the joy of teaching her to cook over the next 8 months. She can make pancakes but i told her she can't live on those alone. Ethan starts track tomorrow. Hopefully it will keep him active enough. He has been going a bit crazy since Basketball ended. Mike is traveling a bit but not too bad. He got a new calling of 1st counselor in the Young Mens presidency. He is very excited about the calling. I am just plugging along waiting for warmer weather. I have planned my garden and can't wait to get started on it. We only had one tornado warning in March so in all it wasn't a bad month. Of course Mike was out of town so I had to deal with upset kids all alone. Shelby was at work and called me freaking out from the womens bathroom. I told her to get on the floor and cover her head. Luckily the tornado skipped us and touched down in Iowa. Hopefully the next few months will be mild weather.

GOOD NEWS!!!!
Okay, so we went to the DR again yesterday. We sat there for 30 minutes waiting, of course. When the DR came in he said "Well, everything we tested for is negative. We know what it's not, which is everything it could be, so go home and forget about it. It's probably a tiny scar from something, we will never know what." I about jumped up and shouted with joy. After 6 weeks of tremedous stress, it is finally over!! Mike was pretty happy, as you can imagine. Now we can move on with our lives and be normal for now. Hopefully it will remain that way.

Mike Update 2
We heard from the Doctor today. He said they found no tumors or anything cancerous. They are still waiting for the growth of some cultures and they think that the masses in his lung are some sort of fungus. That is some really good new! Mike said he knew all along that everything was going to be fine. I wish i could say i felt the same. I wish i knew when we would know about the cultures. We have a follow up on February 5th. Hopefully they will know something by then. I have to say i am very sick of being stressed. All of last year was very stressful and i need this to be over so i can try to relax and detox. We are trying to convince Shelby to start school at BYU Idaho this fall but she is too scared to leave home. We are going to check into the local community college to see what they offer. I will keep you posted when we hear anything on Mike.

mike update
Well, he did really well during his bronchosopy this morning. He was a nervous wreck all night last night about it. The dr said they didnt find anything too significant and we should know the results by monday from the wash they did. He is coughing up saline that was left over in his lung, which has made his cough much worse. I just hope they can find out what is going on so they can fix it. I can't imagine coughing for more than 2 months straight. I will update as soon as we hear back on the results.

Mike's appointment
Mikes appointment went really well today. His blood work came back normal. That means 99% no cancer and no TB. I can say WHEW! I was really worried about cancer. Now they are focusing on a fungal or some other type of infection. When they do the bronchoscopy on thurdsay we should know alot more. I will post again then.

High School Graduate
Well, it's official.....Shelby is a high school graduate. She had mixed feelings about it, at least i think she did. She says she will miss her friends but she will still see them at work. Now she gets to spend her days with me and working every evening. I am determined to teach her to cook while i have her here. Today i am teaching her to make bread. She is not too happy about it but it is what she needs to do. I am going to take pictures of her cooking and post them on here. That way i will have proof that she can do it.
Update on Mike. We went to the specialist last Thursday. The doctor kept saying that normally if they see someone with masses in their lungs like Mikes it is TB. Of course, Mikes TB test was negative so the Dr is testing for Lymphoma and other scary things. We have to go back tomorrow for the blood test results and then go from there. I am really praying that the Lymphoma test is negative. That was the scariest thing the Dr said. Everything else is curable with not much problem. I will post again after the appt tomorrow.

97 MPH Curve Ball
You know how after you have had a rough spell and you think things are finally getting back to normal? We were there. Mike was finally here and we were enjoying time together as a family, looking forward to a new more relaxing year. Well, all of that changed last week when Mike went to the doctor. He has had a cough since a week after he got here in November. The beginning of December i made him go to the dr and they said he had bronchitis. Well, he never really got better so i made him go in again. This time the dr did an x-ray just as a precaution. It was a good thing she did. They ended up finding 4 masses in his left lung. They did a CT scan which confirmed what they found. They don't know what it is so they are sending him to see a pulmonologist. Right now we have no idea what it could be. He shows no signs of infection and TB test was negative. So, now we wait. He goes in this Thursday, so hopefully we will know more then. Keep him in your prayers. We could really use it right now. What a wonderful way to start out a new year.
